New £13m asset management contract for Mi–space

( Last Updated: 05-01-2012 )

Mi-space has been awarded a £13m contract by NPT Homes for a programme of kitchen and bathroom replacement to include all electrical, plumbing, decoration and refurbishment works.

The six year framework involves up to 3500 properties with a target of completing 15 kitchens and 15 bathrooms each week.

AJ Eaton, the Mi-space Director responsible for the business' asset management programme said: "We are delighted to be awarded this contract, and our priorities going forward are quality and community engagement.

"Delivering work of consistently high quality is essential to future growth.  This requires high satisfaction scores from tenants, and the way our staff conduct themselves is a key factor here.

"The long term framework system fortunately allows us to employ more staff directly, giving us greater control over training which in turn produces consistently high delivery standards.

"Delivering benefits to local people in terms of jobs and investment is another important part of this contract's ethos, and we are working with Grow Enterprise Wales (GrEW) who specialise in partnering with economically inactive people to find work.

We will be creating apprenticeships, and providing work experience and employment opportunities with the aim of enabling people to return to work, particularly those who have been unemployed in the long term."
