Mi–space making waves at Jacksons Quay

Mi-space, part of the Midas Group, is constructing a number of affordable housing homes overlooking Barry Waterfront and forming part of the regeneration of Barry Docks.  The visibly prominent homes on the waterfront are being built for Newydd Housing Association.

The Scheme Design is as follows:

  • The development proposal consists of 19 two, three and four bed houses,
  • 51 one and two bed apartments,
  • Built to Ecohomes very good rating and Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3, and
  • The scheme also achieves Secure by Design.

Andrew Johnston, Executive Director, Mi-space, said:

The Architect for the project is Tony King Architects Ltd, Phil Chamberlain, Project Technologist, said:

"This scheme illustrates how working with a forward thinking Housing Association and Contractor can produce an innovative development to a very high standard".

Mi-space is also constructing five houses and 15 apartments for the housing association on Main Street; (artist's impression attached).  Newydd Housing Association is a charitable Housing Association and a subsidiary of The Cadarn Housing Group and manages nearly 2,500 homes across south and mid Wales. These include homes for rent, low cost home ownership, homes for the elderly and supported housing.  Newydd delivers its services through local offices in Barry, Pontypridd and Newtown with central services provided from its registered office in Tongwynlais.
