Jacksons Quay
Barry, Wales
Project: A £6.75 million residential scheme for Newydd HA consisting of 50 flats (to Eco Homes Very good standards) and 19 houses (CSH Code 3). Located on the waterfront in Barry this scheme is a key component of the regeneration of the area.
The project is being cited as a new benchmark on the Integrate Framework for community engagement with significant investment in local employment and involvement with local further educational establishments. The on site canteen benefits local charities and the project programme has been devised with minimal disruption to the local community in mind. Other initiatives have included:
- Trainees from the local further education college (Barry College) have been attending site in order to help them complete their ONC qualification
- Apprentices placements
- Work experience placements through CSkills
